Château de Commarin

Listed as a historic monument since 1949, Commarin Castle was built in the 14th century on the site of an old Roman villa. The castle was largely rebuilt between 1702 and 1713.

This castle escaped the wars and the plunderings of the Revolution, and was never sold, it always knew how to remain through various families in the descendants of the family of Commarin at the origin of the initial building.

Listed as a historic monument since 2005, and Remarkable Garden since 2004, this area is home to a magnificent 8-hectare park. The terraced vegetable garden overlooking the park, the natural meadow, the belvedere, the ponds, the traditional orchard, the quarry, and the undergrowth form a very beautiful atmosphere. The castle has kept its commons from the 17th and 18th century; barns, dovecote, stable, laundry, and bread oven. Also driving several major events (weddings, festivals).

Châteauneuf-en-Auxois

Châteauneuf-en-Auxois is one of the last examples of Burgundian military architecture from the 14th century. During the Hundred Years War, towers and curtain walls were erected to defend the village and the plains of Auxois. Crossing the centuries, the stages of your visit alternate warrior architecture and places of aristocratic life.

In the village, at the turn of the narrow alleys, pediments, turrets of staircases and well-preserved residences will offer themselves to your gaze.

Mont-Saint-Jean

Located in the canton of Arnay-le-Duc, Mont-Saint-Jean is a small medieval town, bordering on the Morvan regional natural park. The village offers various architectural testimonies, dating from medieval times and relating to religious, military and civil architecture. It also has the distinction of having kept one of the oldest hospitals in France still in elevation. A very engaging site that is worth the detour!

Les Hospices de Beaune 

It is within the beds of the Hospices de Beaune that we find our dear friend Terry Thomas and his famous "thirty-three" in the film La Grande Vadrouille.

Flavigny--sur-Ozerain

On the hill between Montbard and Dijon, the archaeological site of Alésia including both the siege of Alésia in -52 BC and the Gallo-Roman city is partly listed as a historic monument. You can currently visit its MuséoParc as well as the remains of the Gallo-Roman city.

Built around a Benedictine abbey founded in the 8th century, this Burgundian city tells its medieval history through its ramparts, its fortified doors, its cobbled alleys, its houses and hotels ... but also its aniseed almonds always made in the old abbey and whose smell welcomes you on your arrival ...

Listed as a Historic Monument since 1862 and the estate since 2005. The Chateau de Bussy-Rabutin is a must in Burgundy castles in the Renaissance style. The castle welcomes you with its French gardens and its 34 hectare estate. Perched on a hill, Vézelay welcomes thousands of pilgrims each year who walk on the way to Saint-Jacques de Compostelle.

Go through the doors of the Sainte-Marie-Madeleine basilica and contemplate this masterpiece of Romanesque art. Vézelay is also home to the Zervos museum, where works of the greatest are admired. L 'Abbaye de Fontenay
